"My love of vivid color and the work of Georgia O'Keeffe led me away from painting oils to trying something unheard of - painting realistically with acrylic epoxide polymer. I hand-mix various types of colorant into curing polymer, then paint on a flat, level wooden canvas using a variety of tools, except brushes. It produces bright colors and a glass-like finish. Mixing the same color again, on a different day, in a different amount, is a huge challenge. There's a lot of math involved (which I love to tell young, aspiring artists). I'm also racing the clock to finish before the epoxide starts curing."
